I have a pretty straight-forward question regarding this Access Point.
I'm trying to connect this 3Com AP with a Linksys Router which is using DHCP (on both the router and AP). According to what I know, the AP should be receiving a dynamic IP from the router, but every time I cycle the AP, it comes up with a static IP! It's connected to a regular port on the router and the Gateway/Subnet/IP on the AP have been set to 0.0.0.0 before I recycle it each time. This is the only missing link I have going. Everything else in the wired network is working just fine with the router, and the WiFi card is receiving IR from the AP. I just NEED to get the AP and Router to play nice.
How can I get the AP to receive a dynamic IP from the router instead of the static one it lists each time I cycle the AP? I've tried restarting the Linksys Router as well - basically, you are my last hope as neither 3Com nor Linksys will help.
They tell me this item has been discontinued, so I can't get any support. Any help in getting the AP going with the router would be greatly appreciated!!!
