I was wondering that if I got a router, probrally a 22Mbps D-Link DI-614+ Enhanced Wireless Router, if it would be possible to reach another building 500 feet away. Unfortunatly the place that I need the access to is in the basement of point B. I would like to do this without the use of a outside antenna. I can see the building from where point A is. Could I purchase a Inside antenna and get the juice I need? Or would it depend on the type of wireless adapter I had? Thanks in advance.

Is there line of sight between the buildings? If there are basement windows in bldg B and you can see one from a window in bldg A, then it's possible you can use directional antennas mounted indoors.

Yes, I can see the windows from Point A. Thank you for your thoughts.

Even with a directional antenna your going to have a hard time making that distance but it is possible. I can see you getting a connection 500 ft away. What you may find impossible is reaching a wireless client INSIDE the building at 500 ft.
What about have a small outdoor unit in point A and small INDOOR unit in point B? will that work for you?
I can't see how you make 500ft and shoot through a wall without using a specific designed equipment for this kind of mission. the DLink 614+ wasn't designed for this kind of mission.

If you 1) want to connect two computers across this space, you'll need a couple of client adapters with external antenna connectors. If you 2) want to connect two wired networks at this distance, you'll need a pair of wireless bridges, like the Linksys WET11. If you 3) want to extend your wireless network to include a wireless client at site B, you'll need an additional access point for the link. In all cases, you'll need a directional antenna at each location. You can build them yourself or buy them.
Which do you want? What is the purpose of this link -- sharing an internet connection, sharing files, gaming, ...?

better use the Engenius Senao 200mw CB3 ethernet bridge or a 2511 cd plus ext2 with antenna it will go the distance with ease.
