How can I get a LINKSYS wirless AP to broadcast up to about 1 mile if possible? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

external antennas (YAGIs, parabolic dishes, etc) and direct line of sight :)

Keep in mind that using external antennas with higher directivity (necessary to stretch the range to a mile) will limit the broadcast nature of the system. The signal be directed more in one direction, not in all directions as standard omnidirectional antennas provide.
