I generally get better throughput when downloading data to my wireless PC, than when I upload data from my PC. Why ?
Can I tweak any setting in my AP or nic to improve the uplink performance? thanks.

It sounds like your saying you get faster downloads from the internet then uploads to the internet. If that is what your saying, then the answer simple. It is do to your connection speed, most internet connections are 1 down 1/2 up, 3Mb cable is 3Mb down 1.5 up, 768Kb dsl is 768 down 384 up.

If you mean coping files on your local network it becomes much more complex as to what effects your transfer speeds in both directions, hardware, anti-virus, firewall, settings on both machines have an effect.

i was looking at some performance figures in the white paper from atheros: it too showed a slower uplink compared to downlink.
This probabily has something to do with the 802.11 protocol itself. But I dont know what ? Does anyone have any idea, why ?
