Site Survey for Wireless Wan

Hey I have done a lott of wireless lan installs..but now getting into wireless Wan.Can any 1 gimme how to go about a detailed site survey for point to multipoint links...around 3-5 miles in perimter.I do have idea about fresnel zone and some issues abt this things..but I am sure some experienced guys among you ..would definitely help me out
