Hi... I've been reading the posts and I think this is the group that can help me!
I've got a Linksys wireless G router connected to my PC which is connected via cable modem (using the cable, not a wireless connection). I also have a Dell Latitude laptop (work issued, running XP) that I have a Netgear WG511 wireless card for. I followed the instructions and was able to get the connection on my laptop, a good strong connection. Now, the problem is that every few minutes (or less), the system tray icon shows a box that says either "no connection" or "view available connections" - and it disconnects my current connection. Usually i just have to select my connection (WEP enabled) and then it starts up again, but it is very frustrating because I have to restart all my instant messaging tools and VPN (the entire time, the green light stays active, leading me to think the connection isn't actually lost).
Tried connecting to a generic un-secure connection that was available, and had same problem, so i am thinking it is something on the laptop, not the setup of the access point or card.
Also, i had previously purchased a linksys card but it was doing the same thing. Exchanged it for this netgear one hoping it may have been a card issue, but since the same thing is happening, it must be Me!!!
Any ideas?
