Frames exchanged between stations

Hi,

1. In infrastructure mode, are the control and management
frames that doesn't contain the frame body directly processed
by the receipent station ? (or they too are to be sent through
AP ?)

2. When a station sends MSDU (length > MAC threshold data
length) to another station through RTS/CTS mechanism, the AP
receicves the MSDU to decrypt and then encrypt using the
destination station's key. Does the AP
- reassemble the whole MSDU ?
- reserve the channel again through RTS/CTS to send the
MSDU to destination station

in infrastructure mode there is no communication whatsoever between wireless clients. everything has to go to/from AP on the wireless side. Each leg of wireless comm is independent of other.
