I have a Toshiba 5105-S701 laptop..seems configured right with built in 802.11... I can turn on card and see the network...and can also see the connection speed and strength..which is good to excellent. My problem is, I can see that I have sent bytes to the network but it always reads zero on the return...and I can not use any TC/IP programs...ie: Ping/Browsers/FTP ... I have tried
turning off my firewall and Virus protection but nothing seems to work. Today was a free wireless day in Boulder,Colorado and all the networks were open...Starbucks ect. But I could not use any of them for some reason. I know, I know it must be user error but I can not find the setting that I need to change.
Any help would be great.....

I'm sure it cant be this simple but... depending on your os... just try a c:\ ipconfig release then renew or equivalent depending on you os.
