I have added a desktop PCI 54g Belkin F5D7000 to my current wired LAN gateway PC (Windows XP ICS).
I also bought a notebook 54g Belkin F5D7010 for my IBM Thinkpad T20 with Win2000.

I have successfully installed with thelatest drivers from Belkin, connected the two PC's in ad hoc netorking mode and I can ping other machines on my network.

However, as soon as any data transfer takes place between the two machines on the ad hoc network, the connection rate drops from 54Mbps to 1Mbps

Can anyone please help me to identify the cause of the connection rate drop?

Both machines are set as follows....
Windows XP is not managing this set up
'54g performance' is set on both cards
Laptop is on the same desk as the desktop when testing.
Both cards are set to ad hoc mode rather than infrastructure.

Please, pleas help!
