Associating two cisco AP 1200 on repeater mode

Hi, this is my fisrt post, I hope that somebody can help me.

I got two access points cisco aironet 1200, I can associate them if one is configured as Root Access Point and the otherone as Repeater Access Point, but if both are configured as Repeater Access Point, they can't Authenticate with each other.

I'm wonder if somebody tried this configuration (and if can works)

I'm sure you've realized by now that there needs to be a root access point signal somewhere for them to repeat.
