Hi,
I need some help .
Here is my setup.
I have COMCAST cable internet service and a RCA cable router.
This setup is connected to a Microsoft MN-500 wireless router.
I have a laptop (XP) and a desktop (windows 2000 server).
The desktop is directly connected to the MN500 thru a ethernet cable.
Laptop has a SMC Wireless cardbus adapter and this works fine.
encryption is set at 64bit.
Here is the problem with my desktop
Every 1-2 mins it can't connect to the internet meaning I try to access a webpage i get "The page cannot be displayed" message. I have to wait for another 1-2 mins before the internet starts working. This is so annoying.
I thought this is due to lack of memory so I put in another 128mb stick but did not make any diff.
I should state that this is an old P2/ 256mb/450mhz.
Earlier I used a USB Wireless adapter on the desktop and had the same problem. I thought this was due to the adapter so I returned it and plugged the desktop directly to the wireless router.
Any ideas on why this is happenning? is it something to do with the memory?
Thanks
