Can I connect an access point to a direcpc satelite modem to broadcast to cards in my machines? I see articles saying this will work for cable and dsl but never a mention of satelite. Tech support at direcpc doesn't know and suggested that the usb connection may be an issue.

It can be done. In my case, I previous had DirecPC two way going into one system, running WinProxy on that system, and using wired & wireless in the house. I use the linksys WAP11, the WUSB11 and other 802.11b cards without any problems. Performance is not the best when using a proxy server, so whatever machine is being used for the relay should be very high performance.

Overall, performance wasn't that bad and since you're already used to the direcpc network latency it probably will not be that noticable. I changed when DSL became available in my area, otherwise I'd still be using that configuration.
