I was wanting to know if there are any handheld solutions for scanning insecurities? I have seen the IBM Linux scanner running on an iPaq and wondered if there was a solution for WINCE PDAs.

WizCom Technologies at http://www.wizcomtech.com/pda/peacemaker.php3 seems to have several scanners that work with Win CE PDAs.

It's rumored that NetStumbler will work on Pocket PCs running Win CE soon. http://www.NetStumbler.com

NetStumbler works very well on a laptop with an Orinoco card as a scanner. It has a graph that displays signal and noise versus time which is very useful in locating the source of a signal. It's display that shows you the MAC addresses and SSIDs of the access points it finds. It also shows you if the access point is running WEP or not. This is useful in finding rogue APs. If you enable tones on it, it sounds an alarm if it finds a new access point that it has not seen before. Total price - FREE

The mock-ups of the handheld Mini-NetStumbler look like the major functionality is preserved. We'll see how it turns out.
