Hi,
I have the problem with a Wlan between Windows 2000 Pro SP2 and windows Xp HOME.

If I disable the WEP the WLAN is OK, but if I enable the Wep, the PC Windows 2000 and Windows XP not seen.

Exist someone patch for WEP for windows 2000 or Windows xp HOMe?

Or

What is the problem?

I have try also with a different AP, but the problem is the same.

Thanks a lot

Luigi,

If you do not have an access point, and are trying to connect the two computers via WLAN, WEP will not work. WEP does not work in peer-to-peer mode, and you will need an access point for that.

If you do have an access point, then it is possible that WEP stifles the broadcast packets needed for windows computers to see one another. Can you ping the IP address of the other computer? if you can, then you might want to try accessing a share on the other computer by typing \\computer\sharename. If you can't ping, one or both of the computers (or the access point) isn't configured properly.
