We are looking for a little advice. Here is our situation:

We are planning to deploy a wireless solution to 5 establishments on one street. The longest distance between two sites is 300 meters, with the other three located in between.

Initially, we only had one establishment interested in becoming a Hot Spot, and the plan was to install a Pronto PN-CPP202 at the location. Our thought now is to (excuse the pun) wire the street for wireless. We would like to provide a seamless connection for any user walking from site A to site E located 300 meters away.

Is this possible with one access point and an additional attenna? Or should we install access points at either end of the street? Essentially, we want the street to be ONE Hotspot and we would like to implement the most cost efficient solution.

Any thoughts would be helpful..

Thanks..

I think you may need two AP .
Next way is you can make a LAN in each side of street with cable then connect two side with one AP.
The last way is ................let your clients live together or asking a maths teacher to deal it j/k :D

Thanks. That doesn't help. I know I am going to need more than one AP.

I don't get your joke.

Take a look at Vivato. www.vivato.net. You could light up the whole block with one panel.

So exactly what is it that you want to know? He was trying to help and he did answer your question. Maybe if you were a little more consistent in what you posted, you'd get the help you say you want.

If this area is an outdoor corridor with 5 estabilishment (a-e) then you may want to put one access point like a Dlink 1700 which has two diapole antennas and 250 MW, weather proof and 600 meter range and cover the whole block. Indoor shops may need additional access points.http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pid=36&rid=186
Good luck:)
