Getting ready to go to UCSB and am almost certain they are wireless. However, I dont know if it costs additional whihc case I wouldnt go for it.

Anyway, What Wifi equipped notebook out there now is worth it? School doesnt start until September 15th so I have some time. Is Centrino worth it? I heard its a bad idea to get it built in. In that case, what Notebooks out there can I add wifi too?

The Compaq X100 has a widescreen display and is centrino. However, centrino means only .11B and not G or A. Any ideas? I will find the cost of this service if there is.

I figured a notebook is the way to go because I can take it allaround with me. Especially if my apartment becomes too loud. Seems like a the better idea, plus I guess I can also take my 4 year old PC too.

Also, Which processor should I get? I heard that Intel's M is the way to go because the P4 draws too much battery. Is this true? What about AMD?

You can add wireless to any laptop with a CardBus slot (Almost all have these). Don't be limited to whatever crappy wireless Intel shoves down your throat with Centrino.
