I just got the new orinoco a/b/g silver combo card. The only problem is there is no port available to screw on an external antenna. Is there anyway possible to connect an external antenna? I am thinking maybe there is a way to do it through the usb port?

Proxim has removed the antenna port from the new silver card. The gold card still has the port, according to their data sheet here http://www.proxim.com/products/all/orinoco/docs/ds/11bpccard.pdf .

Unless I am mistaken, the 802.11 a/b/g card does not have an external antenna the 802.11 b card does have an antenna.

I thought the FCC didnt allow any 5GHz .11a cards to be manufactured with external antenna connectors.

The new Proxim/Orinoco Silver cards do not have an external antenna port probably because of everyone flashing silver cards into gold cards although I heard a rumor it was to please some isp's but that doesn't make much sense as other cards still come equiped with external antenna ports.
The Proxim/Orinoco Gold still comes with external antenna port.
The new Proxim/Orinoco b/g combo card DOES come with an external antenna port.
The Proxim a/b/g combo card does NOT have an external antenna port as no 802.11a client card come equiped with an external antenna port.
