I'm looking for some sort of headset device that could be used with a PDA so I may verbally transmit and receive over a wifi 802.11 LAN.
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? Ron carter1945 06-13-2003, 09:31 PM I am unclear as to why you are requesting voice communications. Are you placing voice calls or want to talk to another PDA? Please explain in detail what the application is so we might be able to respond. sidgrea 06-14-2003, 05:21 PM I'm involved with a group of hikers who are seeking ways to transmit data real time over an existing wlan. Each hiker has a e755, some also use the new M1100 heads up display. http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/3276.html Were simply looking to verbally communicate using the wlan instead of using the traditional two way radios. Any ideas? Preferably I'm hoping to use the e755 earphone jack for this purpose. Regs, Ron oshea85 06-15-2003, 12:05 AM is there a wlan in the woods you hike in? probably not. Keep using the two ways, or Nextels. sidgrea 06-15-2003, 11:14 AM Your correct, we all connect to one mobile access point. I believe its refered to as an infrastructure basic service set (BSS). No matter how inefficient is there a way to utilize voice com over this type of setup? In addition, these PDAs come with internal antennas. Without using any ports (already populated) is there a way to connect this type of antenna to an external antenna? The external antenna would be mounted outside of the backpack. Thanks for your help!
