802.11a outdoor range question

Hi!

I need to connect my PC to a friend's ethernet network. We live in different buildings around 200m (600 feet) from each other. There are a few buildings along the way. My computer is close to the window but we dont have direct line of sight.
We both live on the 2nd floor but he is a bit higher than I am. All the buildings in the area are around 5 to 7 floors high.


Would it be possible to use a 802.11a wireless network? Our goal is to broadcast a digitized TV signal (PAL). Would it be possible?

These products work on line of sight. There may be some rare circumstances where you could "bounce" a signal to make a connection, but it certainly wouldn't be reliable.
