Does anyone know what the latencies between a host and a client using 802.11a and 802.11b? My target would be intranet gaming.

If you are on cable, which you probably are, you will experience no lag if you currently experience no lag with your current connection. I don’t think you will have a problem with Wi Fi. You would only need 802.11b , but if you have DS3 or T1 you might want to consider 802.11a. I hope you find this helpful! firedraggon 05-21-2002, 06:41 PM Thanks for the bandwidth information. Some of the hardware, which I have read about, documents their bandwidth very well. I mislead you that I needed the information for online gaming. I still need to locate latency information on 802.11a for a consumer product under development. I think I might have to buy an 802.11a system and load it to see if the latencies are acceptable. wi-fiplanet.com
