I am thinking of purchasing another laptop and I want to be able to link up both laptops so that they can use my cable modem and print wirelessly.

I want to be able to use the internet and print from anywhere in the house with both computers ( I don't want my laptops tethered to the printer or the cable modem) is this possible?

Any suggestions on what I would need to purchase? I have asked the sales staff at Best Buy but they were confused by
my question and were not sure how it could be done. I got a feeling it can be done but not sure what to purchase.

Thanks for any advice.

You can put this together pretty easily. First you want a wireless router to connect to the cable modem, such as the Linksys BEFW11S4. Next, for each laptop you'll need a Cardbus adapter, such as the Linksys WPC11. You should be able to get both of these at Best Buy (They are the top selling wireless products).

The printer can either be connected by wire to the router with a wired print server such as the Linksys PPS1UW (This works with USB printers only) or connect it wirelessly with the Linksys WPS11 (This connects to parallel printers only). You probably won't find either of these in the store, so check online retailers such as Buy.com, etc.

Of course there are other brands you can use, but I gave Linksys as the examples since they are easiest to find.
