Does anyone here already hold the CWNA cert? Any thoughts about it?

I'm currently enrolled in the Cert course. I've enjoyed myself so far, but in reality if you have any experience with Wireless at all you probably know 70-80% of the stuff already. Hardest things is to remember all the acronyms. All in all though, I think it would be worth it to get the cert.

Yes, I have the CWNA. I have been involved in the idustry for some time, and took the exam for the credibility aspect.
There is alot of information covered, however, the exam seemed very objective, meaning that there were multiple answers that could be correct on some portions.
I do recommend it however, as it provides alot of infomation and a foundation to build upon. Good luck!

The web site sponsoring the certification offers a PDF study guide. Has anyone viewed it, if so would you recommend it?

I received mine a few months ago, it was pretty good, I suggested buying the study guide.

Is it possible to pass the certification test by ONLY studying the study guide?

Yes, yes I know...it depends on your current knowledge. Please try to give some objective advice anyway.

Nothing beats experience in my books, with that said, I also read
Wireless LAN's (2nd Edition) by James T. Geier and Jim Geier. If you have the chance get a couple of Wireless NIC's and an AP, you should be able to learn alot just by setting them up.

I知 running a DI-614+ router and two USR NICs and I知 in the middle of Cisco certification classes. I知 hoping I can gleam enough information from the CWNA study guide to fill in the hole.

I don't think you'll have much of a problem passing the test.
