Hi there, i have just made an wlan in my office, and because it has a lot of walls i had to use eigth access points (Apple Airport Extreme), alll of them are bridges in the same subnet, and with fixed address, and i have a DHCP server which will lend the addresses for the clients.
Ok, here goes my question... How can the clients automaticaly select the nearest access point? They will be running win, linux and mac os.
Thanks for your help :)

Sebastian,
In theory, the most common multi-ap set up has all APs using the same SSID but using different channels. Most combinations of Card and software will automatically switch to the channel with the strongest signal. I also know that this question has been answered here several times before, and I am sure that if you search the boards, you may find some insight.
One caveat though, I haven't really worked with Airport, so I can't tell you exactly how to implement this.
HTH,

Well, i have seen some posts about that but, because my poor english (i'm spanish) i didn't understood the word "roaming"
I'll try that and i'll post here the results.
PD What a beautiful thing the Airport Extreme is... It doesn't so many features but has great range and it looks like a lamp :P
