I'm a student working on a theoretical study of the througput in IEEE 802.11a,b,g, and have some trouble to fint the proper equation for this problem. The parameters I have is the packets size and the SNR. From the document IEEE 802.11-01/055 there is a proposal for the estimation. But this doesn't take the instance when errors occurs under transmission and when there is necessary with retransmisssions. Can someone help me to build up a right equation with retransmission, lets say PER =0.01.
I would also try to simulate the WLAN, with different packets size and SNR. What kind of programs are best suited for this?? Are there any code or finished programs on this??
