I have recently finished my doctorate dissertation around WLANs and am wondering where is the best place to have this available to the public for reference.

Some have suggested approaching a conference - where, how, when?

Is there a place that all this hard work can be available to professionals who want to look?

Is there a place that offer enough exposure for the dissertatoin that maybe I can get a job out of all of this effort?

Alot of questions, and many times I have had great answers - I hope that I get a few more good answers. :) :)

If it is really worthwhile work (and I have no reason to doubt that it is) a reputable publisher may be interested in making a book out of it. Typical example of a publisher who does this type of work (talking from experience) is MIT Press (even if your doctorate is not from MIT, for instance I know people from Berkeley who have got their thesis published by MIT Press in the form of a book).

Assuming you are not infringing on any dissemination agreements with your graduate school, you may want to create PDF form of the thesis and try to post it on multiple sites where people can download it from.

If you happen to have a small web site and not necessarily with relevant links you can register your cause with some of the major search engines so people conducting searches will be likely steered to your PDF file.

Depending on the actual subject of the thesis, you may be able to identify companies or even trade publications, whose message is enhanced and corroborated by your work (even if your work does not explicitly talk about them) and therefore may be interested in offering a link to those who want to download your thesis as a "white paper" while giving you and the school you are coming from full credit for the work.

What is the work about? I would be interested in reading it too. I can then make more pertinent suggestions.
