Hi all.

I have a dwl 900ap+ connected in bridge mode to a DI 614+ that is located at 2 km

once or twice a day they lost the connection. I have to go to the dwl 900 and reconnect it manually

Somebody have had similar problems?

tks

just so you know D-Link says that the 900AP+ can only communicate with another 900ap+ in bridge mode.

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=995&question=DWL-900AP+

Hearing that you have it working is great news, but I am sure that the support they would give you would be none.

As far as it disconnecting once or twice a day:
Are they having a lot of traffic during those times, or very little to no traffic? Are they using any special configurations like VPN or anything?

If I had to guess I'd say that some kind of certain situation is happening to knock it off it's connection. Maybe it is some interference somewhere between the 2km connection? does it happen at around the same time every day?

When you say you have to go to the 900ap+ to reconnect it manually do you mean reboot the AP, or do you have to plug in the ethernet cable again?

What is amazing is that dlink told me that only CLIENT mode should work ... good, if i choose client it does not work, but BRIDGE WORK GOOD (for a while ...)

Not a lot of traffic, variable ... no vpn, just 256 bit wep key

Sometimes during the night, sometimes in the morning, or in the afternoon ...

What is strange is that the connections should be autocamically recovered, or not?

When you say you have to go to the 900ap+ to reconnect it manually do you mean reboot the AP, or do you have to plug in the ethernet cable again?

This is the most strange thing: i have to open the configuration, choose "AP MODE" and then again "BRIDGE MODE" or, instead (it's the same) use the site survey and reconnect

Check if you have stable power supply to the 900AP+.

Yes if your 900AP+ still maintains the configurations.

I guess you have lost the 900AP+ configurations when you need to reconnect.

Correct me if I am wrong, whatever mode you set, the wireless signal will be the same and the other end the DI614+ or other devices receiving the same signal.
