point-multipoint 802.11b WLAN ad hoc network

Hi to everybody!
I would like to know if it's possible to realize a WLAN ad hoc network in a point-multipoint mode. There must be a master in this configuration? Can anybody in the network become the master (can I reconfigure immediately the network if the master break?)? How many people can everyone communicate with?

This probably won't work in point-to-multipoint mode, but should work in point-to-point mode (ie. when connecting two buildings). Ad hoc will only work properly if all stations (points) can hear each other at the same time.
