I'm setting up 2 separate WLANs and I need to know what would be the best way to connect the 2 buildings. They are about 1/2 mile apart, and I don't think theres a direct line of sight. Can someone give me some ideas? I was thinking about a VPN ...but how would I set one up?
Thank you for your help

If there's no line of sight, and there's no possibility of a repeater site (a location that has LOS to both of your end-user sites) in the middle somewhere, then your best bet is getting DSL, cable or perhaps a leased circuit.
I think you'd want a hardware-based VPN appliance at each location setting up and maintaining the tunnel between locations. If you use software clients to create the VPN endpoints, performance suffers.

Then would it be setup like.... DSL Modem--->VPN Router--->File Server---->Access Point---->then to the PC's. I know it may sound simply, but I really do appriecate your help.
