PCI adapters and wireless cards

I have 2 Orinoco silver cards. I would like to use these in desktop systems to link into my wireless network. I have searched and found PCI to PCMCIA adapters from various sources. Each company states that their adapter will work with their wireless card ONLY!

Is this true? Can I use the Orinoco cards in any adapter? Any recommendations on which adapter to use? I found a Belkin F5D600 adapter for $10, has anyone used this model before?
