I'm looking for a device that will allow a "black box" with simple ethernet I/O to access an 802.11 wireless network. The device (and WAN) would need to be of the a or g variety to meet throughput needs. I have found several 802.11b "bridge" units (from the likes of Linksys, etc) that fit the hardware profile perfectly, but no offerings for the higher speed a or g standards other than a few super expensive (>$1500) units meant for building-to-building bridging. Are there other possibilities? Essentially I just need a driver-less wireless client that acts like a direct ethernet connection.
