Here's the Deal,

I currently have 3 laptops at home, and I print wirelessly from all 3 using my router's (Siemens 2623) print server. Unfortunately, my six-year old printer is dying.

There are a lot of printers out there, but many of the newer ones only have USB interfaces. Although I could connect one of the laptops to the printer and share it out, I don't want printing to be contingent upon one particular computer being on.

Does anyone know of any wireless LAN print servers that support USB printer connections?

Asante Wireless Print Server is about $170, with which you can buy at least 2 general quality inkjet printers and connect to each laptop.

Linksys makes a cheaper one, but you have to buy the wireless card separately:

I used to have a linksys AP/PrintServer/Router and it ****ed. as a general rule, I don't think that PC-card based routers are a viable option.

As for price - remember it isn't about the price, its about convenience and mobility. I want to be able to keep one printer on in my office and then when I am surfing along in my bedroom or living room, I want to be able to print and have it waiting for me. I also don't want to have to rely on any one computer being on at any given time. I simply want to add a wi-fi interface to an existing printer.

I find it interesting that a lot of companies make router/ap/print server combos, but almost all of them have parallel ports and none seem to have USB
