Hello,

I recently purchased a Linksys WMP54G Wireless G PCI Adapter for my desktop computer. I usually see about 15 wireless networks when I use my HP Pavilion DV2 laptop, but after installing the wireless desktop card and installing it, I was only able to see one available network. The network I'm trying to connect to should be there... in fact, I'm using it right now for internet access so I can ask this question.

Did I purchase the wrong type of wireless desktop card? Anything I can do to connect to the network? I'm literally looking at all of the properties for the network I want to connect to via selecting properties from the wireless network list on my laptop.

Thanks and sorry for the n00b question.

Pull the PC out from under the desk and set it up as high as you can on top of the desk. Or try a directional antenna.

My self/// I would take it back and get a USB adapter and 4 foot or longer extension cable and duct tape or sticky tac that puppy in the spot where it gets the best signal.

PCI card antennas are on the back of the computer hidden in a corner where RF doesn't travel as well.
