Philips made an announcement about a 802.11a-PC-card with a CE-market for free circulation within Europe.

OK, here we have hesitations about legal operating within all European countries.
I do have a list of the European Communication Council:
29 countries and only 9 (!) are listed in 5.2GHz operation. Means Radio LANs like the HiperLAN2 (which is implemented in the European regulations.

Talked with a official regulation body in Europe: Statement 802.11a only in o.m. countries with incorporated Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) and Transmit Power Control (TPC) functionality and several restrictions. In other European contries not allowed!
In their opinion this device is not complaint to IEEE802.11a therefore a proprietary European solution.

I'm confused.....know someone more and better details?????
Highly appreciated!
